	Positive Environment In Mac’s Music School, your child will learn in a positive and nurturing environment. Studies have shown that 9 out of 10 children learn more when they are around positive teachers. A recent study found out that a learning environment with positive-to-negative ratio greater than 3 to 1 is significantly more productive than those that do not reach this ratio. Through carefully structured lesson plan, our teachers consciously balance the praise and criticism during lessons to enhance your child’s interest and at the same time not sacrificing their progress.

	Assessments We monitor the child’s progress and interest level closely through frequent assessments. Why assess? We strongly believe that firstly, assessment is a system that drives instruction and this will tell us how much we can help students to learn more. This is assessment FOR learning. Secondly, assessment is a snapshot of student’s performance to tell us how much have they learnt. This is assessment OF learning. With a balance of assessment FOR/OF learning, judgment will be consistent rather than rely on a single exam.

	Caring and Sharing “The child will not care how much you know till they know how much you care.” We believe that a child comes to us with something within himself to share with us. So we share with them our knowledge and our passion for music. We work closely with the parents, sharing with them our experience on how to help the child to practice at home. We will constantly give feedback on their children’s progress through various channels, for example parent/teacher meeting and parent/principal meeting. We also hold regular pre-course talk to help parents and students to understand what they are going to go through. Its our responsibility to ensure that the students years with us will be well spent.

Our teachers, all diplomas or degree holders, upgrade and update themselves through attending local or overseas seminars and workshops. Our aim is to enrich the spirit, develop the mind, feed the heart, soothe the soul, nurture the character, unleash the emotions and instill pride in young people.
