"Where words fail, music speaks.” – Hans Christian Andersen.
What he said couldn’t be more apt when the strings students from Mac’s Music School visited and connected with our friends - the members from the Stroke Support Station (S3) through their passion in music making.
Our students – age between 6 and 12 started the morning with the Theme from Phantom of the Opera and followed by the highly narrative movements from the Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
This is really a moment of musical connection redefined. Though most of the S3 members are not familiar with western classical music, their involvement and connection with the music is so palpable.
The highlight of this interactive session is when our students went forward to the members with their violins, viola and cellos.
They introduced the strings technique - pizzicato. No more inhibitions.
It's such a joy to see our students getting involved in community work through music making and sharing!
The true meaning and spirit of music!
